Will Gallas join France for World Cup 2010?There has been lots of concern recently, that one of France’s most charismatic defenders William Gallas won’t be fit in time to participate in the coming World Cup, which will be held in South Africa. His season with Arsenal was indeed plagued with injuries and he suffered again a recurrence of his calf injury in the Champions League match against Barcelona on the 31st of March 2010.

Gallas is currently undergoing intensive medical treatment and is hoping to be named in France’s provisional squad for the World Cup. Besides player injury problems, the French nation headed by Michel Platini expressed their doubts about the current France boss, Raymond Domenech. Many believe that he does not have the managerial skills to be successful with Les Bleus at international level. Raymond’s contract expires just after World Cup 2010 and only a very positive campaign by the French team can lead to renewal of his contract. There’s in fact already speculations about who the next manager will be.

William Gallas has already won 78 caps for his country and is looking forward for more competitive matches at international level. In an interview with Le Parisien, William Gallas reassured the public that he’s doing his best to regain his fitness, join the French squad as early as possible and start the necessary preparations necessary for the World Cup.
