David Beckham Injury UpdateDavid Beckham has been injured during a game with AC Milan and is set to miss World Cup 2010. His loan move to Italy was almost bearing its fruit as Fabio Capello was planning to name Beckham in England’s provisional 30-man squad. However his plan backfired as this latest injury setback ruled him out of contention.

Capello and the medical team did not rely on news from media for a David Beckham injury update, but contacted him personally to check the extent of the injury. Unfortunately he won’t be present as a player to the coming World Cup, but will be aiding the national team nonetheless.

In the meantime, Beckham is stepping up his efforts so that England host the World Cup in 2018. He will be in fact leading an English delegation in Zurich this week. They will be presenting the bid book to Sepp Blatter, FIFA’s president, explaining why they believe England has the right credentials  to host the tournament.
