Michael Ballack will miss World Cup 2010Michael Ballack will be definitely missing the World Cup 2010 in South Africa. This was the official news after the German captain underwent a scan to analyse his injury on Monday morning. Ballack has suffered ligament damage to his right ankle during the F.A. Cup final match against Portsmouth, following a dangerous tackle by Kevin-Prince Boateng.

The medical team of the German national team confirmed that Michael will need at least two months to recover completely, thus ruling out Ballack from the coming World Cup. The match against Portsmouth was indeed really physical and the German captain believes that Portsmouth players should have been yellow carded on various occasions.

Rudi Voller believes that Michael Ballack is irreplacable in the German national team and that they will struggle without him in the coming international tournament.
