Stoke City close the transfer window in style as they sign Eidur Gudjohnsen and Jermaine Pennant on season-long loan deals from Monaco and Real Zaragoza. Stoke City have also concluded the signing of Irish defender Marc Wilson from Championship club Portsmouth. Stoke City signed Wilson in exchange of Liam Lawrence and David Kitson.

Eidur Gujohnsen spent last season on loan at Tottenham. Previously he had played for Bolton, Chelsea and Barcelona. Gudjohnsen will add much needed flair and goals to Stoke’s attacking force. Jermaine Pennant, a past promise of English football, has returned back to England to prove his abilities. Stoke will be expecting many crosses from Pennant.
