To everyone’s surprise Martin O’Neill isn’t Aston Villa’s manager anymore. The Northern Irish manager handed in his resignation after the club’s decision to sell James Milner to Manchester City. The club announced his resignation on the club’s website. Martin O’Neill was against Milner’s sale but the club can’t resist Manchester City’s offer. Martin O’Neill was highly regarded by the Aston Villa fans. He also enjoyed successful spells at Norwich, Leicester and Celtic. He is leaving Aston Villa after four years in charge.

Reserve team manager Kevin MacDonald has assumed the role of caretaker manager until a replacement to O’Neill is found.
