Andrey ArshavinAndrey Arshavin spoke to British tabloid ‘People’ and stated the following “I will go to Barcellona in the summer. I dreamt of playing in Spain for the best club in the world. I also know that Gael Clichy would like to wear Barcelona’s shirt.”

One will have to wait to see Wenger’s reaction to Arshavin’s comments. This was only one of the many controversial comments Arshavin left to the media since his move to Arsenal. Before his move to Arsenal he had already stated that Barcelona would be his preferred destination. Since joining Arsenal he restated his love for Barcelona multiple times, also causing Wenger to get angry at him. Lately Arshavin also shared to the media his frustration for being deployed as a central striker. Arshavin is also being accused of unsettling his team mates by linking them to Spanish side Barcelona. Last February Arshavin stated that he would understand Fabregas if he decided to move to Barcelona.

Andrey Arshavin is a Russian midfielder that kicked started his career at Russian club, Zenit Saint Petersburg. At the age of 19 he started playing for second team Zenit-2 Saint Petersburg before breaking through to the first team one year later. After nine years at Zenit Saint Petersburg, in January 2009, he moved to Arsenal. Arshavin played 51 games and scored 16 goals for Russia.
