This summer Juventus promised their fans a big signing and even though the transfer market is still in its initial phases it looks that Juventus will be sticking to their promise as they have already started negotiations with several high profile players. Obviously not all of them will join but the fact they started the negotiations so early means that they will sign one or two high profile players.

The players on this shopping list are the following:

Carlos Tevez – The Argentine striker wants to leave Manchester City with Italy being one of his favourite destinations. It has yet to be seen if Tevez is ready to join a team that will not be participating in a European Cup although at the right price he may be ready to make the move as he did when he joined Manchester City. In that sense it seems that Juventus are ready to increase his salary.

Sergio Aguero – Aguero was the first player Juventus showed interest in as Atletico Madrid President, Gil, declared. He said that Juventus were the only club that showed interest in him but the buy out clause of €45m might be a stumbling block. Gil is not ready to negotiate a lower price to sell Aguero. Recently it has also been reported that Real Madrid are interested in Aguero. Should Real Madrid sign Aguero, Juventus could have the opportunity to sign another Real Madrid striker.

Gonzalo Higuain – In my opinion Higuain is one of the most underrated players. His goal ratio is one goal every two games. It appears that Real Madrid have decided to sell Higuain for a fee of €15m to have the funds to sign Aguero. If such reports are true striking such a deal would be a bargain for Juventus as they would get a champion for the fraction of the cost.

Karim Benzema – Another Real Madrid striker is on the radar of Juventus. Benzema never had an ideal relationship with Portuguese coach, Jose Mourinho, therefore it always seemed that he would be on the way out this summer. Recently there has been a change in scenery as Benzema declared that he will be staying at Real Madrid and that he will fight for a place. This still has to be seen cause if Real Madrid sign Adebayor and Aguero then they will have to offload a striker whom most probably will be Benzema.

Alexis Sanchez – Alexis Sanchez reputation has grown exponentially in recent years. He was always touted to become a great player and in the last two seasons he has definitely been expressing his qualities. In the World Cup he also played his part with his great technical ability and rapidness. Sanchez would be a great signing for anyone but for Juventus he would be a unique signing as Sanchez would bring with him that flair that he currently misses. Udinese are ready to sell their prized asset but it seems that Juventus will have to cough up €40m to sign the Chilean star.

Giuseppe Rossi – Giuseppe Rossi is another player that Juventus have been monitoring. They were always interested in him but never excelled in trying to buy him. It appears that this summer Rossi will be leaving Villarreal but to join Spanish giants, Barcelona.

Those are the six names that Juventus are interested in. Do you know any other players that Juventus are interested in? Let us know!

Tottenham have stated on their official website the signing of evergreen goalkeeper Brad Friedel. The 40 year old American keeper has made another important step in his career as he is moving to a side that has Champions League ambitions.

Tottenham will be Friedel’s fourth English club as he has already played for Liverpool, Blackburn and Aston Villa. After a shaky start in the Premier League at Liverpool his performances kept improving. They improved so much that even Liverpool were interested in re-signing him now. It was very clear that Friedel would have several admirers this season as his contract with Aston Villa expired. On the other hand Tottenham coach, Redknapp, will be very happy with Friedal’s signing especially after the recent blunders of Gomez.

Italian soccer is once more finding itself under investigation as another scandal has came to light. In 2006 Italian football ruined their reputation in the world of soccer as several individuals were accused of getting favours to favour their side, even though no one has been found guilty yet. That scandal was named Calciopoli by the Italians. In that scandal several Serie A sides were found guilty and a few Serie B sides.

This time the scandal includes Serie B sides and Lega Pro sides, up to now no Serie A club has been affected by the scandal. It appears that certain results were fixed so that punters could win their bets. This scandal involves several high profile players such as former Italy striker Giuseppe Signori. It appears that Signori has an addiction for betting and bets on anything. He has been arrested as he is considered to be involved in this betting scandal. The Italian media is referring to this scandal as Scommessopoli. This latest scandal definitely came at a bad time as Italian soccer started to recover from the last scandal thanks to Inter’s Champions League victory last season.

Initially it was reported that Juventus were interested in the Brazilian but not it appears that Turkish giants, Besiktas, have stormed into the scene. Lucas’s contract with San Paolo expires on December 2015 and he will be one of the talents that scouts will be looking at during the Conembol Sub-20 tournament.

It seems that San Paolo value the player at 20 million euros but with other teams interested in the player the price might increase even more. Lucas is being scouted by other Italian, English and French teams.

After many rumours it appears that Real Madrid will really be selling Argentine striker, Gonzalo Higuain. Real Madrid signed Higuain at only 19 years of age from Argentine side River Plate for a fee of 13 million euros. Now Real Madrid are looking to cash in 15 million euros for Higuain which could be a steal for the team that buys him. Higuain is a player that scores a lot of goals, a natural finisher but last season he suffered a serious injury.

Real Madrid would like to sell Higuain to save up money for their main objective who is Atletico Madrid striker, Aguero. It appears that Real Madrid will have to pay 45 million euros to sign the young Argentine.

Fabio Borini’s agent, De Marchi, has stated that Italian youngster Fabio Borini has signed a five year contract with Italian side Parma. He also added that Borini signed the contract before playing the final and that his client is very sad that he couldn’t attend the promotion celebrations due to his commitment with Italy U21.

This will be bad news for Swansea as next season they will be playing their first season ever in the new format Premier League. They are the bookmakers favourites for getting relegated from the Premier League next season. Parma have signed Borini on a free transfer as his current contract with Chelsea has expired. He was on loan at Swansea last season. In recent years Parma are building a reputation in signing young promising Italian players such as Candreva, Giovinco and Borini.

Bundesliga side, Hamburg, have announced the signing of Michael Mancienne from Chelsea. The news has been announced on their official website. Mancienne signed a four year contract with the ambitious German side.

Even though Mancienne was a Chelsea player he spent the last three years on loan at Wolverhampton were he played an important part in helping the side get promoted to the Premiership and maintaining their Premier League status in the last two seasons. Mancienne has played for all the England youth sides but is still waiting to play his first senior international match. Hopefully a move to Germany will not hamper his quest to play for England.

In recent weeks Italy international, Alberto Aquilani, has been in the limelight of British and Italian media as his future is still unknown. Liverpool loaned Aquilani to Juventus with an option to buy him but the Turin based side decided not to take the option. Instead they negotiated the price and managed to agree on a fee of 10 million sterling with Liverpool. Even though Juventus managed to lower Liverpool’s expectations it seems that they will still not buy Aquilani as new coach, Antonio Conte, has other players in mind.

Should a move to Juventus not materialize it will still be very hard to see Aquilani with the red shirt as the Italian wants to move back to Italy. It appears that Italian champions, Milan, are very interested in Aquilani and such a move would satisfy all three parties. Recently in an interview Aquilani stated that he would be very happy to play for AC Milan.

Manchester United have officially announced on their website that English striker Michael Owen renewed his contract. The new contract will expire next summer. Michael Owen said that he is very happy to have extended his contract by a year. He also added that he can’t wait to start next season.

This announcement will definitely stop the rumours that were circulating in the media as many were predicting that Sir Alex Ferguson would not offer a new contract to Owen. It has also been said that Everton were very interested in the services of Michael Owen, even though such a move would have raised several eyebrows in Liverpool since Michael Owen was Liverpool’s golden boy. Next season Michael Owen will try to play more games to give himself some hope of making it to the European Championship next summer.
