Juventus Ajax

Juventus maintained their recent positive run as they obtained what they wanted, qualification. Both teams started the match with the conviction of qualifying with both teams fielding the best possible team. Ajax started this match without their star striker and captain Luis Suarez. The Uruguayan international missed the match through suspension.

The match started off with Ajax trying to notch an early goal to try and re-open the encounter, after the loss suffered in Amsterdam. They weren’t very effective in doing so and the only time Juventus were in real danger was when a hesitant Manninger was was going to be fooled by an early lob from Toby Alderweireld. The remaining of the first half saw a motivated Ajax constantly in search of a goal but with Juventus having the best goal scoring opportunity when Momo Sissoko hit the woodwork.

The second half saw a solid Juventus team defending bravely their two leg lead. Ajax kept on persisting for a goal that never materialized.
