Ruud Van NistelrooyThe last stop of an extroardinary career. That is what Hamburg represents to the Dutch striker Ruud Van Nistelrooy (33): “Hamburg is a new chapter in my career, but it will also be the last. It is the ideal team for me. Probably had I scored more goals in the first part of the season at Real Madrid they wouldn’t have sold me, but things are good as they are. Between Manchester United and Real Madrid I lived nine fantastic years.”

Ruud Van Nistelrooy started off his career at modest Den Bosch before moving on to Heerenveen and later on PSV Eindhoven. After exceling in Netherland Van Nistelrooy moved on to England, more specifically at Manchester United. At Manchester United Van Nistelrooy enjoyed his best playing years before a big bust up with Sir Alex Ferguson resulted in him being sold to Spanish giants Real Madrid. Last January Hamburg signed Van Nistelrooy on an eighteen month contract. Since joining Hamburg he has already managed to score two goals in three matches and has already become a firm fan favourite.
