Europa LeagueJuventus beat Fulham 3-1 to give a boost to their objective, that of qualifying to the quarter final of the Europa League. Everything happens in the first half, with the first goal being scored in the 8th minute by a Nicola Legrottaglie header from a corner. In the 25th minute Zebina managed to score his second goal with the Juventus shirt. He dribbled past two Fulham defenders before letting go a great shot from outside the big box with the ball hitting the post before going into the net. Fulham managed to narrow the gap in the 37th minute when Etuhu let go a weak shot that hit Legrottaglie and with the change in direction managed to beat Manninger. Just before half time Juventus managed to score a third goal with David Trezeguet causing the damage for Fulham. Trezeguet had to shoot twice to beat Schwarzer as he first hit the post only to then score from the rebound. In the second half Juventus held on to the result with a solid defensive performance.

This result gives hope to both teams as Juventus will definitely be looking to close the tie early with their two goal lead but on the other hand Fulham will be hoping to make use of their away goal. A 2-0 win at Craven Cottage will see Fulham qualify. Next Thursday the second leg will be played at Craven Cottage in London.
