Rooney's injury news - April 2010Wayne Rooney was injured during the last few minutes of the Champions League match between Man Utd and Bayern Munich. Although the English nation feared the worst, Sir Alex Ferguson confirmed it is a minor ligament damage which will keep his ace out for less than two weeks.

Rooney has been in excellent shape this season, scoring 34 goals in all competitions. Although he will be missed by Man Utd, Sir Alex Ferguson is expecting the other players to step up and prove their credentials. Rooney will definitely sit out this Saturday’s game against Chelsea and most probably even the second leg of the Champions League quarter-final against Bayern Munich.

Man Utd are known to have an exceptional medical team and we’re almost certain to see Wayne Rooney back to action in no time. Two other injured players, namely John O’Shea and Owen Hargreaves are expected to return to first team action, most probably as early as this weekend.
