Marat IzmailovAccording to ‘News of the World’ Manchester City seem to be fully convinced on buying Marat Izmailov (28). Manchester City coach, Roberto Mancini, is said to be ready to invest slightly more than 11 million euros for the Russian player. Marat Izmailov currently plays for Portuguese side, Sporting Lisbon. They are currently demanding a fee of around 22 million euros for their player. Izmailov’s agent, Paulo Barbosa, believes that both sides might agree on a few of around 16 million euros as Sporting Lisbon are not ready to let him go on the cheap.

Marat Izmailov kick started his football career at Russian side Lokomotiv Moscow. He grew within their youth ranks and debuted for their first team at only 19 years of age. Since his debut, Izmailov went on to win a regular first team place and in 2002 he won his first senior cap for Russia. In 2007 he moved to Portuguese side, Sporting Lisbon, on a season long loan. He impressed the Portuguese side who decided to buy him for a fee of 4.5 million euros. At Sporting Lisbon, Izmailov is considered as a very important player. Marat played 31 games and scored 2 goals for his country. The last time he played for Russia was in 2006.
